Award Winning Short Stories

The stories listed here represent the cream of the crop as determined by our volunteer judges, each one taking out first place in a Writing Contest for 2015.

We hope you enjoy some of the best of what NiTH has to offer, and if you think you’ve got what it takes to compete (and to be honest, everyone should try at least once), head over to our Writing Contests page and see what’s open right now.

TO THE EDITOR AT NEEDLE IN THE HAY | by Charlie Novak

Charlie Novak takes the editors down a notch with his mildly unhinged response to the rejection of a short story that is also weirdly the short story we are reading. It’s clever, and funny, and for all writers probably a little cathartic.
