TO THE NINES AWARD: PART 7
We’re down to the pointy end now. Here’s what you’ll need to consider and include in your story as we come close to the end.
- Set up the climax for your story, utilising existing themes, characters and plot points.
- Who is ancillary to the story, what side plots do you want to tidy up, can they assist the main plot and themes?
- What message do you want to convey to the reader, how do you want them to feel when you hit the climax?
- Part 9 will be a denouement, part 8 will include your climax. Take all this into account when writing part 7

NEW COVER IMAGE RULES
A cover image is no longer a prerequisite, but we still love them. All cover images must be in 4:3 format landscape (not portrait). Most photo editing programs give you that option. If you’re using your phone, try the Snapseed app, it has lots of cool features as well. Another recommendation is Pixlr.
If including a cover image, ensure that you own the rights to that image or that you have permission, or that the image carries a free license. Make the filename of the image the name of your story and include a backlink to the source in the body text at the bottom of your story.
(Optional) Intro – 150 characters
