This award about savage Gods and family rivalry is due Sunday 4 march
THE PERSEPHONE’S HARMONY AWARD
Writing Prompt
Gods are cruel creatures and families have a flair for the dramatic. So in this contest, you’ll pit familial animosity with the fire and brimstone of imagined Gods as savage powers pit mortals against mysterious forces.
We’d like these Gods to be new archetypes. You may choose to use names and tropes from the past, but in order to qualify, you’ll have to re imagine them as gods for our time. Alternatively, you can just make up new ones as well.
Also include:
-
- A grand battle for supremecy
- A misunderstanding where lives are at stake
- A mortal (or mortals) in mortal danger
This is an epic in less than 1000 words so make it count.

Modern takes on classic epics.

This story is due Sunday 4 March 2018

Entry Format
COVER IMAGE
A cover image is no longer a prerequisite, but we still love them. All cover images must be in 4:3 format landscape (not portrait). Most photo editing programs give you that option. If you’re using your phone, try the Snapseed app, it has lots of cool features as well. Another recommendation is Pixlr.
If including a cover image, ensure that you own the rights to that image or that you have permission, or that the image carries a free license. Make the filename of the image the name of your story and include a backlink to the source in the body text at the bottom of your story.
Also include:
In the body text:

- Author name
- Award name
(Optional) Intro – 150 characters
