STORY CONTEST GUIDELINES

In six hundred words or less write a short story where the protagonist receives unexpected news from a Doctor, Dentist, or other medical professional.

 

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS?

There must be at least the protagonist and the medical professional. Aside from that, you are free to include as many (or few) characters as you like.

WHERE SHOULD IT BE SET?

It should be set in a hospital, doctor’s office, or other relevant facility.

 

WHEN IS THE DUE DATE?

Entries are due 29 of May 2015 for a June 5 winners announcement.

 

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS?

Medical professionals use all sorts of werid machines and appartus. Make use of these items and include them in your story. Look at the sterility of medical equipment v the natural biology of people, germs, and life in general.

  1. Hi! I’m interested in entering, but would it be possible for only a little bit to be set in the hospital, and the rest to move away from it, to say, the protagonists home? Thanks.
