Mouse click. Paper filed. Photocopy in triplicate. Coffee break 5 minutes. Mouse click. Keyboard stroke. Mouse click. Meeting in 5. No, no. Meeting at 5. Same suit as yesterday? Same day as yesterday.
Write about someone breaking out of the daily monotony of routine. It could be a corporate environment, but it could also take place in a different setting, like an island paradise where the protagonist has grown bored of a fruitarian diet and bathing in the ocean.
I know which one I would prefer though…
Satire, literary, fable, journal, travel, picaresque are all suitable genres.

NEW COVER IMAGE RULES
A cover image is no longer a pre-requisite, but we still love them. All cover images must be in 4:3 format landscape (not portrait). Most photo editing programs give you that option. If you’re using your phone, try the Snapseed app, it has lots of cool features as well. Another recommendation is Pixlr.
If including a cover image, ensure that you own the rights to that image or that you have permission, or that the image carries a free license. Make the filename of the image the name of your story and include a backlink to the source in the body text at the bottom of your story.
