STORY CONTEST GUIDELINES

Taking ‘Magical Realism’ as your genre, write a story about the importance of a shirt.

It might be a particular shirt, a magical shirt, a favourite shirt, shirts in general.

But it should absolutely, postively, be about shirts.

The word length in up to 800 words.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS?

There are no particular character requirements. But if you use the name Shirty McShirtyson somewhere in there… Well who knows maybe it might work in your favour.

WHERE SHOULD IT BE SET?

Set it in either:

  1. A shirt factory
  2. A house made of shirts
  3. A vintage shirt and clothing shop
  4. SHIRTS!

WHEN IS THE DUE DATE?

Short story submissions are due May 22nd for a  May 29th Winner Announcement.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS?

Well, there is the shirts.

Include the title, author name and contest name like this:

PRIZE

First place can claim free feedback and editing on a story or segment of a story up to 5000 words from one of NITH’s awesome volunteer editors.
