$750K SciFi and Fantasy Collection Donated to Iowa University

The University of Iowa received a pleasent suprise recently when 73 year old local collector of Sci Fi and Fantasy fiction domated his entire collection to the University.

Allen Lewis began reading genre fiction age of 12, but it wasn’t until the late 90s that he began to collect the majority of his 17000 strong library.

He’s only read about a quarter of the collection, but summed up genre fiction neatly:

 “Fantasy and science fiction writers explore certain problems or areas within our society today and then expand them and put them in another location.”
