SHORT LIST
Boarding School Espionage by Amber McGlothlin
Click Caught by Emily Dickey
A Place Called Hope by Vannessa Ho
3 + 4 by Joey To
The Red Eyed Giant by Manasvi Mudgal (Winner!)
In light of recent world events, compose a piece of fiction dealing with power, secrecy, and the right to know. It can be any genre, and does not have to deal specifically with leadership, governments, or heads of state.
Depth and craft are essential, and the short list will carry more stringent criteria then previous awards. To avoid being heavy handed, you may wish to explore the use of metaphor and allegory.
These instructions are brief. Make sure you read them carefully.
I’ll be watching you.
