Writing Prompt
Write a story based on a misunderstanding, where characters act under a false belief, be it deliberate or otherwise. Engage the reader with dramatic irony and create tension through the story.

Due Date
All entries due no later than the 16th of August 2015

Word Count
Up to 700 of your best words.

Prizes
First prize receives 5000 words edited by members of the NiTH team on a manuscript of their choosing.
All short listed authors receive feedback on their stories by request.
Story Requirements

Characters
A minimum of three characters must be in the story. Everyone must have names, including the narrator.

Setting
The story can be set anywhere and anytime. There are no genre requirements either.

Special Requirements
Include the scattering of ashes, visiting a grave, or some other kind of bereavement. (No requirement that this be a tragic or sad story).
